Tailored, ongoing, evidence-based professional learning for educators at all levels of a school system, designed to build knowledge and skills that transform practice to ensure each student has opportunities to meet challenging state academic standards.

DESIGNING DISTRICT SYSTEMS OF PROFESSIONAL LEARNING ALIGNMENT  
District leadership teams conduct a needs assessment of current professional learning practices, mid-year, and post-assessment of impact:  Three per year
District leadership teams study research and cases of districts that have aligned and differentiated  professional learning and create a plan of action customized to their school district: One per year
District leadership teams implement the plan, assess progress, and address challenges of implementation through collaborative study: Two per year
 

DESIGNING SCHOOLS FOR JOB-EMBEDDED PROFESSIONAL LEARNING

School leadership teams conduct a needs assessment of current professional learning practices, mid-year, and post-assessment of impact: Multiple meetings (e.g., Quarterly)
School leadership teams study research and. cases of schools that designed their school for job-embedded professional learning, and create a plan of action customized for their school: 1 time per year
School leadership teams implement the plan, assess progress, and address challenges of implementation through collaborative study: Several meetings (e.g., Monthly)
 

ENACTING DIFFERENTIATED PROFESSIONAL LEARNING

District and/or school leadership teams conduct a needs assessment of current differentiation professional learning practices, mid-year, and post-assessment of impact: Multiple meetings (e.g., Quarterly)
District  and/or school leadership teams study research, and cases in practice of schools that differentiated professional learning, and create a plan of action customized for their school: One per year
District and/or school leadership teams implement the plan, assess progress, and address challenges of implementation through collaborative study: Several meetings (e.g., Monthly)
 

MASTERING SKILLS FOR COMMUNICATION, COLLABORATION, AND FACILITATION

District and/or school leadership teams conduct a needs assessment of current collaborative practices, a mid-year, and post-assessment of impact on collaborative practices: Multiple meetings (e.g., Quarterly)
District and/or school leadership teams build skills for communication and facilitation that will result in increased collaborative practices, study cases of collaborative practice of schools, and create a plan of action to implement at their schools:  One per year
District and/or school leadership teams implement the plan, assess progress, and address challenges of implementation through collaborative study: Several meetings (e.g., Monthly)
 

EVALUATING PROFESSIONAL LEARNING

District and/or school-based teams administer a pre, mid-year, and post-assessment to evaluate the impact of professional learning on educator practices: Multiple meetings (e.g., Quarterly)
District and/or school-based teams meet to analyze data, celebrate successes, and suggest actions to address challenges of implementation: Multiple meetings (e.g., Quarterly)
 

TARGETED PROFESSIONAL LEARNING SERIES

The following are examples of topics that have been customized to individual school needs:

  • Implementing evidence-based instructional practices
